A glorious summer holiday day at Broadhaven. Beach was rammed (school holidays) - needed to be careful carrying kit to water and when sailing to keep out of everyone's way. Wind a bit marginal, but I was planing most of the time on 95 litre Freewave and 6.4m. On-shore wind - hard to get upwind off the beach, but then could use the waves to get planing and fly along parallel to beach. Great fun. Tried a new variation on gybing from Peter Hart's new video - stick front foot in strap before initiating a non-planing gybe - board spins like a top, forces you to move your hips across or get. flung off and footwork replicates planing gybe.
